Can you serve if you've had cosmetic surgery done to yourself?

Yes, this is allowed. However, (a) it must not be anything that the military branch deems obvious or distracting, and (b) you are required to wait before enlisting for up to a year if you have surgery. The wait would depend on the procedure, but I happen to know offhand that a tummy tuck is a one-year wait (it's also one of the most severe recovery times).

And I don't know about other branches, but the Army changed their tattoo policy in 2006 to allow facial permanent makeup tattoos. Again, the regs state that it must not be obvious or distracting (so some eyeliner is cool, freakish puffy fire-engine red lips is probably not). The permanent makeup rule applies only to women. Can you serve if you've had cosmetic surgery done to yourself?
I know that if a female had breast augmentation for example, yes, she can enlist. I'm speaking on behalf of the Navy, and different branches of the military have different criteria. Some particulars are the same, some different. I would bet as a recruiter, that any kind of cosmetic surgery wouldn't be a problem, you just need to get the medical documents (operative %26amp; follow-up). And it would be a medical waiver, but not a big deal. Cosmetic wouldn't be a big deal because the purpose for the physical exam to qualify is just to be sure that your body is healthy for military service. Good Luck. Can you serve if you've had cosmetic surgery done to yourself?
absolutely -- in fact, up to just a few years ago, service members were allowed one cosmetic surgery done ';complimentary'; of their military component....this allowed the military plastic surgeons opportunity to get experience on different surgical procedures:) they don't do this anymore though....

btw, i am in the military, and have had some myself....so I do know for a fact!
Sure; but once you join you become the Property of the Government and they have strict rules about what additional procedures you may have done to yourself while you belong to them and this includes such things as tattoos and piercings..
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. Your going to speak with a recruiter regardless, and They will ask for past medical history and go from there. Just visit your local recruiter or go to www.goarmy.com and chat with a recruiter online and ask them that question they will be happy to help you out. Best O luck!
Unless it was something outrageous, like 56 inch breast implants, then yes you can serve. Just make sure that you list it on your medical forms.
As far as I know their is no restrictions for having cosmetic surgery. Unless it was done to evade the law.
Yes.
Of course!
don't you have to serve no matter what happens?
serve what???
