Most companies(for cosmetics) don't test on animals because the ingredients widely used by ALL, have already been tested
therefore companies can claim not to use them, because it isn't necessary to continue testing chemicals that have already been tested.
also it's impossible to stop using soap, cosmetics, foods, prescription drugs, contact solutions, deodorant, food additives, surgical procedures, fluoridated water. Companies that do not directly perform their own tests will most likely use the information gathered by these tests to ensure their products are safe. if it was already tested, they will know its safe, so they shouldnt test again.... BUT, if it doesnt say ';not tested on animals,'; DONT GET IT! go online to their website to see if it says anything on there
