If you are in the US, you can go to plastic surgery society sites to make sure they are board certified, state regulatory boards to make sure their license is solid, ranking sites that provide surgeon survey results by previous patients or search for the surgeons name in a major search engine and you may come across a watchdog site that lists surgeon law suits.
